Free, New eBook Dropped! "50 Mistakes That I Will Not Make Again as a Gardener (or Farmer)"
EXCITING NEWS! The Seed Viability Chart PDF is being retired from the e-mail list, and is being replaced with a small, free e-book I've written: "50 Mistakes That I Will Not Make Again as a Gardener (or Farmer.)"
It's absolutely free to my e-mail subscribers! Just head to this page and sign up, you should get the welcome email with a link to the eBook.
In this book, I talk about 50 different mistakes that I have made or considered over the years. Some of them are a little more towards common knowledge, such as not composting dryer lint. Others are things that you really only learn through experience, such as not saving open-pollinated squash seeds or improper fencing choices.
My primary goal with this eBook is to tell the world the mistakes I've made in the last 9 years of gardening, so that perhaps a few people won't make those same mistakes earlier in their gardening journey. My secondary goal is to grow the email list, due to how social media websites have evolved over time- keeping our community together, rather than fading away due to algorithms. Yep, that's it. You won't find me trying to sell you a course, or trying to upsell you a $300 garden bed that you could find on Amazon for 50 bucks.
Want the seed viability chart but didn't sign up in time? That's alright, because it's still available. That's being moved over to the group! If you just head over to our Facebook group, I have uploaded it there as a file. You should be able to save it from your browser, or from your phone. If you cannot save it on your phone, definitely try it on your home computer. It's definitely a helpful document to keep inside of your gardening binder. If you don't have a gardening binder, I highly recommend it!
The purposes of a gardening binder include:
- Having lots of information that you need readily accessible at your fingertips- think about the information you may frequently access via internet connection (ideal fertilizers, pest and pesticide charts, bulk preservation instructions, seed viability, planting instructions, etc.)
- Log your garden activities (such as planting dates, pest problems, fertilizing schedules, pesticide schedules, harvest quantities, etc.)
- Log information about breeding projects or seed stability/reliability.
- Record any extreme weather, growth anomalies, or pest events for future reference.
- Note diseased tubers and their planting locations/when the area is safe to plant in again.
